Desert Rain
A moment of respite in a harsh landscape
A soft, wet drizzle
Like passing through a cloud
The desert snuggling beneath
Earth’s cooling blanket
A welcome respite
Like water after thirst
The soaking of the desert
Earth’s perpetual balance
A thresher sings his joy
Like David around the ark
The rain drips from his beak
Earth’s tiniest waterfall
A stillness sits upon the earth
Like a resting cat
The rest that creation needs
